Over a weekend, 30 Stanford and Cal women in Computer Science will teach 100 Bay Area high school girls to code, giving them confidence that they can code and inspiring them to pursue careers in CS. The event will spark collaboration and mentorship which will last through high school and beyond.
30 mentors will teach 100 high school students at 2 locations (Oakland and East Palo Alto). $1300 will be used for renting space and computers ($650 per location), $1000 will be used for lunch and snacks ($500 per location), and $200 will be used to produce curriculum packets and other materials.
